HAMMOND BAY

This neighbourhood includes some of the best views and luxury homes in Nanaimo. Hammond Bay is a picturesque stretch of hillside located between Departure Bay and Dover Bay. Overlooking the ocean, this area features beautiful views of sea, sky and nearby mountains. Properties in this area are residential, with many luxury homes available. Nearby attractions include scenic Pipers Lagoon Park and the Biological Station at the end of the bay.

Pipers Lagoon Park

This park is one of the most beautiful waterfront spots in Nanaimo, featuring endless opportunities for nature walking, beach combing and wildlife viewing. Built on a peninsula that extends out to a rocky headland, this park has the appearance of an island. It also features many trails that lead to a number of seaside lookouts, including views of the historic Shack Island and nearby Neck Point Park.

Neck Point Park

This park is also another destination waterfront spot in Nanaimo, including many well-known natural, historic and scenic features. The most popular areas of this park are the rugged cliff trails, pebble bay beaches and forest trails through Gary Oak groves. This park is popular with photographers, scuba divers and everyone in between.

Morningside Park

This local park is located beside Hammond Bay School, with Walley Creek running through the park area.  This park features a tennis court, basketball court and picnic tables.

Oceanview Park

This neighbourhood park features a playground and is close to a nearby forest.
